Atlanta-born rapper 2 Chainz is showing no signs of slowing down after the release of his album Dope Don’t Sell Itself. Today the Tru rapper released a video for the song “Free B.G.” – honoring, B.G., ¼ of The Hot Boyz who is currently serving 14 years for guns and drugs.
The video shows multiple women dancing as men ride around with motorcycles. 2 Chainz announced last summer that he would be quitting “trap music”. However this recent song and music video say otherwise, for now.
The cover art for this upcoming album pays homage to his hustle trap rapping style that fans are more familiar with.
The cover is dark and features just his hands and wrists rocking an iced-out diamond tennis bracelet, and diamond rings — holding what appears to be a vintage, size 14 shoe box that is stacked with $100 bills.
The rapper captioned his Instagram post, “This is a reimagined image of my first bank account. I’m sure some of my hustlers can relate!”
The album rollout will be coupled with exclusive Dope Don’t Sell Itself merch, customizable lithographs, and limited edition autographed CDs.
DDSI will be 2 Chainz’s seventh studio album. The ATL legend, who began his career under the moniker “Tity Boi”, promised fans earlier this month that the new release would be a “masterclass from a seasoned vet in the game.”
