Forgot About Bow Wow? Here Are 5 Things To Remember About The Groundbreaking Rapper’s Legacy

Bow Wow has become a topic of discussion on social media where trolls recently questioned his legacy.

The rapper took to Twitter to respond to a troll after they tweeted “imagine getting a gun put in your head to name 3 Bow Wow songs.” 

The former childhood rap star told the troll that they “better name them,” along with a picture of himself with a gun doing a stick-up.   

Bow Wow then proceeded to go back and forth between trolls and fans who defended his legacy.

Bow Wow reminded everyone of his hits during the recent Verzuz showdown with Soulja Boy, Don’t think the “Take Ya Home” hitmaker’s contributions are worthy of credit as one of the most impactful artists in hip-hop?  

1. “Like You”

This hit from Bow Wow was made with then-girlfriend, Ciara, and reached as high as number 3 on the Top 100 charts. The song was released as a single in 2005 for the album Wanted.

2. “Take Ya Home”

The song was released as a single in 2002 off of the album, Doggy Bag, and reached 72 on the Top 100 Billboard charts.

3. “Let Me Hold You”

The song featured B2K’s Omarion and became one of the biggest songs in his career, reaching number 4 on the Billboard.

4. He’s Mr 106 & Park

The nickname came about because the fans kept his videos in the number 1 spot for weeks on end on the BET show 106 & Park. The video for “Take Ya Home” song was the second video to be retired from the show. Bow Wow was so popular with the show’s fans that he would later serve as host of the show towards the end of its run from 2013 to 2014.

5. Appearance on Arsenio Hall Show

Back in 1993, an unknown Lil Bow Wow appeared on the Arsenio Hall show, freestyling to a song in front of the crowd as an 8-year-old.


Before there was JAY-Z and Beyonce or Cardi B and Offset, there was Ciara and Bow Wow. They were a couple everyone loved to watch.
